Partnering is an organized approach to improve communications and joint problem-solving on projects involving people from multiple organizations. Formalized partnering has been practiced in a variety of industries for over 50 years. It helps organizations shift from a "silo" approach where people are reluctant to share information and work with others to a collaborative approach.
Ms. Boucher has over twenty years experience helping organizations formulate, design, facilitate, and maintain a partnering approach in a wide variety of applications.

Conflict is a natural occurrence, but it can become a detriment and detract energy and attention from the work at hand and prevent progress from being made.
Whether the conflict is one that is between several government agencies working together, management and staff, or two people, Ms. Boucher can offer a customized approach to help the parties get the concerns out into the open and managed or addressed.
Examples of conflicts Ms. Boucher has helped resolve are provided here.
Design Charrettes and Concept Design Workshops (CDWs) are two approaches to engage stakeholders early in a design and construction project. While these are used primarily in the construction industry, these approaches may also be useful in other industries and applications. Both allow the development of a conceptual design for a large project within days rather than months.
Ms. Boucher has designed and facilitated a variety of Design Charrettes and CDWs for US government construction projects.

An interview survey, either in person or via teleconference, is a powerful method to gather information that could not otherwise be obtained through an on-line survey. An interview survey allows people to share information to a neutral third party. The survey data is combined -- non-attributed -- into a report.
An interview survey provides the data needed for Ms. Boucher to customize a Partnering Workshop, a training session, or a corporate retreat. It also provides data that participants in these activities work with to solve problems and develop solutions. Click here for more information.
This approach makes it possible for parties to share and to work with information that might otherwise not be available.
The Laurel Co. provides customized workshops in a variety of areas such as:

The Halifax Strength Indicator (HSI) is a tool to help people understand and therefore influence the specific areas that make their project vulnerable to non-productive conflict. It analyzes 20 key characteristics.
The HSI is useful as a predictor tool at the beginning of a project to identify areas that can be strengthened, as an identification tool during a project when conflicts arise, or as a lessons-learned tool at the end of a project . Strengthening areas vulnerable to conflict helps preserve profits, relationships and reputations.
The HSI is especially useful in situations such as: large-scale construction projects, programs that cross organizational or agency boundaries, and highly technical projects.
Many organizations spend time reacting to rather than preventing challenges. Annual planning helps prevent this. Besides giving managers the personal satisfaction of having greater influence on their organization's future, annual planning helps managers and their teams focus on the right objectives. Annual planning is an important "communication event" at which time participants become aware of what others really think and feel, and with that knowledge they can be more effective in their decision-making. And annual planning is a tool to increase accountability. The Laurel Co. helps business teams conduct positive and productive annual planning. Ms. Boucher's clients routinely comment they accomplish more in a period of one or two days than they could ever imagined. The in-depth discussion of issues, the high level of participant engagement, and the written report that documents the team's work mark these planning meetings as exceptional.
Mentoring or professional "coaching" services are available to support individuals and groups wanting to learn of ideas and strategies that help them or their business teams be more successful.
